One part of the Great Palace of Constantinople - Palatium Magnum - was found by our company in 1996.
It took us 4 years to excavate 600 trucks of dirt, to discover the first staircases of this amazing building.
All responsibilities and ownership are on the Basdogan family’s behalf, the same way as expenses are.
In the nearest future, we will open other parts of Magnaura palace for everyone to shed light on the greatest times in the history of mankind.
The Great Place of Constantinople (Palatium Magnum) - also known as the sacred palace - was the largest Imperial Byzantine Palace Complex. Located in South Eastern and the Peninsula now known as "Old Istanbul". Palace was built by Constantine I.
Palace served as the main royal residence of Eastern Roman and Byzantine Emperors from 330-1081 and was the centre of administration for over 800 years.
Constantine I built three Palaces in Great Palace Complex;
Palatium Daphne (Near the Hippodrome, Under the Blue Mosque), You can visit Mosaic Museum and see the largest Mosaics of the Great Palace.
